Exactly 2 years ago I did my first cold shower challenge. I knew about the benefits, but didn’t manage do it again since then.
Today I started my second cold shower challenge. Usually the first days are the most difficult days. Toady it wasn’t different. It was hard to get under the cold water, but I knew I ALWAYS felt better after taking a cold shower. It took me like 2 minutes to get under the water, but it was great afterwards.
I knew the second day would be harder than the first one. I was right. Took me about 2 minutes to get under the cold water. I hate it when the cold water is getting down my back :D Anyway, the feeling afterwards was great!
Still hard to get under the cold water. But great I did it!
It’s not getting any easier to get under the cold water. In a few days it will be definitely easier. Looking forward to that day.
Today, I took my shower later, because I didn’t want to get under the cold water.
Every day I try to go directly under the cold water. I mean, one shot in the head is better than 10 in the stomach, right? It’s easier than it sounds. I know it will get better each day. Felt great afterwards.
Today I had no time to hesitate. Just went straight under the cold water.
It’s way easier if you focus on your breath. At the beginning it’s almost impossible to focus on the breath because it’s so cold, but step by step it’s getting better.
Although I had a gym session I had the feeling the water was frozen today. It was so hard. But hey, I did it anyway.
The last 2 days I had the feeling under the cold water was more intense. Had the feeling it was way colder.
I started with a hot shower today. In the end I switched to cold water and it was easier to stay longer under the water then the last days.
I started with a hot shower and then directly after switched to ice cold. It was eay easier to focus on the breath.
Today I managed to keep staying 2-3 minutes under the cold water. Really cold water. Could keep my focus on my breath. I felt a warm feeling within my upper body. I only felt the cold on my feet.
I jumped straight under the shower. Today I think it was the coldest shower during this challenge. When I lost my focus on my breathing the water felt freezing cold. I felt great afterwards but also was shaking from the cold. The water was so cold today that my skin was red after the shower.
Yes! Half of the challenge done. Actually I didn’t want to do this challenge in the beginning because I didn’t want to be uncomfortable. But that’s the whole point. So I decided to give it another try. I’m proud I did it! I'm getting to this point where I can shower more like it's warm water. I feel that inner warm while focusing on my breath. This makes it way easier.
Oh man, I didn't want to go under the cold shower today but of course I did it. Afterwards I felt great.
Today was one of those days where you don't want to leave your comfort zone. You would like to just take a hot shower and then go back into your bed again. It's ok to have those days. But if you push yourself do it in those days the benefit is the biggest. It's easy to do something if you feel like to do it but the challenge is to do it if you don't feel like. I'm proud I did it!
I took a hot bath today. The cold shower afterwards was just a great feeling.
Even after 19 days it's not like you just hop under the cold water like it's hot water. I still need some time to bring myself to go under the cold water. It became definitely easier to stay under the cold water once you are in this situation. The feeling of "I just want to get out here" is not so bad as at the beginning.
What a feeling today! Took my shower very early this morning and it was freezing cold, but the feeling afterwards is priceless. I felt fully energized and ready to start the day. Awesome!
Started with hot water today and ended with freezing cold water. Hot water is more comfortable but you don’t feel energized at all. You are more relaxed and could go sleep instead of start the day.
I have a pretty dry skin and hair. I don't feel this is now better after showering cold. Maybe I need to shower longer?
Yes, I needed this today. Cold water is bringing you back to the present moment. Was kinda looking forward to the shower today.
Today I turned the water so cold that I got a tiny brain freeze 😂 And that's not even 100% cold. We have winter here in Germany so I think if I turn it to maximal cold I will shower in ice cubes ❄️
It's way easier to get under the cold water and stay there now.
Today I was even looking forward to get a cold shower. It felt great.
Today I don't have the feeling I want absolutely go under the cold water because I was showering early in the morning before 7am. But I also didn't hesitate much. I'm amazed that although I don't want to go under the shower I have no problem to stay under it.
Yes, finished last day! This was quick. It's freezing cold here right now in winter. I used to shower with pretty cold water but today I've tried to shower on 100% cold. It just hurt 😂Brain freeze included.
Finished my 30 minutes for today. I did this challenge already once. That's why it's a bit easier than the first time. But I can still sit only between 2-3 minutes in this position without feeling pain in the front of my shins. After one day I already feel how good this position is for the mobility of my knees.
Today was similar to yesterday. Just tried to read a book while sitting in this position. You hold something in front of you so that you don't fell behind and to relieve the pressure on the shins. This way I can sit 5-6 minutes in this position.
Both knees are feeling much better than before. Still can't sit longer than 2 minutes without help.
Finished this challenge directly in the morning. Try to work and eat my breakfast in this position. Also included it into my stretching habit.
Started directly in the morning then go to work and forgot about it the whole day. So I did it just before to go to bed. It's also a good comfort zone challenge to do the squat sitting in public places.
Did 20 minutes directly in the morning and it was easy. Finished the rest in the evening but it was way harder to sit in this position. I don't know why.
Still hard to sit more then 2-3 minutes in this position without some help.
Was the whole day outside today so I did the challenge throughout the day in the public.
Today I lean with my back against the wall so I can sit way longer in this position without getting pain in my shins. I could easily sit over 10 minutes in this position.
My week point in my body for this challenge is definitely the area between my ankle and my shin. There I feel the most overload if I don't support myself by leaning to the wall. This area needs to work the most to help that I don't fall backwards. If I sit too long in this position my feet are even fall asleep. I need definitely work on this area by stretching it.
Managed to get a good routine about sitting in the morning eating my breakfast and some short sessions during the day or some longer session in the evening.
It’s still hard to sit longer than 2 minutes in this position. After 2 minutes my shins start to hurt .
It's getting slowly better day by day. It's still demanding for my shins if I don't lean again a wall but overall the feeling in my knees is way better and my flexibility improves slowly.
Ok let’s do it again. My goal is to do the cold shower for 60 days at least.
This was awesome today! Went straight under the freezing water like it was warm water.
Today I showered directly after waking up at 6:45 am. I was still tired and it felt harder so I hesitated a little bit, but of course I did it. It felt great afterwards.
Today I started with a hot shower and ended with 100% cold. Despite it was freezing cold I'm impressed that I don't feel the cold in my upper body. I feel the cold the most at my feet, head and hands. Awesome feeling!
Those days are the best. Showering cold directly after waking up despite being totally tired. The feeling afterwards is unbelievable.
This my 52 day showering cold. I don't have the feeling it's getting easier the more days you are doing this. At some point it stoped getting easier. Sometimes I even have the feeling I need more will power to get under the water. I mean, it's way better than at the beginning where I was hesitating sometimes.
Couldn't shower here at all, because I was traveling for 24 hours.
Ok, this is the first day on Bali and cold shower here is like showering warm in Germany :D
I had times where I meditated regularly but also got like a month between when I did nothing.
I can barely sit 10 minutes quite in one place. I always feel the urge to do something, that something is always waiting for me that is more important than sitting 10 minutes in peace.
I did the meditation directly after my cold shower which helped me a lot.
I just meditated for 5 minutes but this felt like an eternity.
Today I didn't manage to meditate in the morning. Did it instead in the evening. After the whole day it's hard for me to just sit down for 5 minutes.
Today was the first day I didn't have the feeling of constant restlessness. The first couple days it was so had to even get started and then I had constantly the feeling I'm just want to get out of this moment.
I completely forgot about it in the morning and wanted to do it in the evening. I thought about it but I told myself I will do it later because I didn't want to do it now. Yeah and then I forgot it.
